Fin fish, with their high levels of beneficial Omega-3 fatty acids, can be a vital part of a healthy diet. In the Sprouts Fish Department, we always carry flavorful fish ideally suited for sauteing (tilapia), baking (cod) and grilling (tuna), as well as flexible options like salmon, trout and catfish. You will also find many seasonal and exotic offerings.
When it comes to fish, effort counts. A lot. Many supermarkets buy their fish from a single large wholesaler and take whatever they can get; then they freeze it, and sell it off as needed. But not Sprouts. In fact, our seafood is delivered up to six days a week from trusted purveyors who process the catch locally and follow strict food safety standards.
- We offer the top-sellers all the time, including tuna, salmon (wild and farm-raised), cod and tilapia, along with catfish and trout fillets.
- If you don't see it, just ask: we can usually have fresh mahi mahi, swordfish, ono, opah and other seasonal or exotic fish ready for you to pick up in a day or two.
Our seafood specialists are trained to reject any fish delivered that does not meet our stringent standards. We hand-inspect every piece of fish daily for freshness and quality. Nothing fishy about it: if we can smell it, we won't sell it!
